About The Peterborough Drama Festival Group

General Information

The Peterborough Drama Festival aims to promote speech and performance skills for all age groups in order to increase confidence, develop artistic expertise and to provide competition and cooperation amongst all keen students of the arts. Our professional adjudicators are experienced and well qualified and their aim is to inspire and educate, giving to students the benefit of their knowledge and enthusiasm.

When and Where

The Festival is held annually on the first weekend in March. The festival has taken place in a variety of venues in the past.

In 2024, the festival will take place at The Salvation Army Church & Community Centre on Friday 1st March and Queen Katharine Academy on Saturday 2nd March.   

Awards

Over 50 trophies are awarded for the different classes at the Festival and there are two special awards: the individual Victor Ludorum for the competitor who has won the most classes over a variety of disciplines and the Victor Ludorum (Schools) for the most successful school in the Festival.

Volunteers

We are always grateful for volunteers to help with the running of the Festival. Duties include working alongside adjudicators in an administrative capacity, acting as stewards on doors or writing certificates.
